In the Sacramento Bee (July 14) there
was a long article about how El Dorado
Hills formed a governmental district
with taxing powers to enforce CC&R's.
They banned TV antennas even in the
days before cable TV. The article
covers a big flap about how someone
was not allowed to paint their house
yellow. Also, you can't park a boat
in your driveway, etc. Scary.
El Dorado Hills is positioned for the
status seeker, the person who thinks
their friends will be impressed because
they live there. The CC&R's are part
of this package. I think you have to
choose between "prestige" and antennas.
On the brighter side, the Gov. just
signed a bill making flags exempt
from CC&R's. I wonder if Force 12 will
pick this ball up and run with it.
