I am helping a ham with a TX472 that has a new Raising Fixture, TRX 80HD. It
is attached and ready to use, lowering the nested tower for maintenance and
antenna work. The raising fixture has never been used and I am looking at
the gear box wondering what keeps the tower from "taking off" when you start
to let it down. There appears to be a clutch mechanism in the gear box that
will prevent the tower from lowering itself at a high rate of speed. Has
anyone used one of these? and is the clutch mechanism the "safety" device
during lowering, or is there something I am missing.

Thanks es 73 Bill K3SV
