My understanding from a metal cable company is that if you use a thimble on
a guy cable you lose 20% of the strength of the cable at that point. If you
weave the end of the cable you lose 5% of the cable strength. Is this true?
Also, what strength do you lose when using a guy-grip?

page...there is no "D" at the end; they should know better!
And yes, you need turnbuckles - they are mandatory to tighten the
cables to proper tension - especially given that they stretch/relax
over time.
