Potmetal usually refers to an alloy of zinc.  The alloy is then pushed into 
a mold to form the cast.  It is a quick way of making the item ie car door 
handle etc.  Once broken not attachable by soldering, brazing or welding.

I donot know if epoxy will work.  Most of the time a new piece was purchased.
