Charly - this is a bit of oversimplification!

To some extent I follow your bigger is better idea - but in my Ameritron 
and WX0B devices the relays are actually pretty small... they seem to do 
ok??????????????

I cannot see using a switching relay from a power company remote site as 
necessarily being a better option than taking a hard look at what relays 
these two manufacturers are using =and = then maybe upgrading them a 
little since the retail units are built with profit margin in mind!

As far as being "Amateur Radio" - I prefer to gather opinions from other 
hams more educated than myself, and also disregard ideas from guys who 
clearly are bandwagon jumper oners!  Then, I go from there - that is the 
beauty of these reflectors!
