35 years at Johnson Space Center exposed me to engineers all my working
life. I can attest that there are engineers today at JSC who sport crew
cuts, pocket protectors and, I'll bet if you looked in their desk drawers,
slide rules. Maybe not all of them meet all of those specs, but some do.

I wasn't an engineer, but when I retired I willed the slide rule I was given
in 1967 (a neat little circular s/r with a slide-out measurements conversion
card--very handy!) to a female Info Sys engineer--she loved it.

Pocket calculators and, later, desktop computers notwithstanding, the s/r
got quite a bit of use over the years.

By the way, the engineers at JSC are the best and brightest engineers in the
world.
