Help please!
I'm assembling my new in the box KLM 3 el 40M and have a question. There are two straight tubing sections that attach to the sections that are surrounded by the linear loading rods. The outer most tip is 1/2 inch dia. and then there is a 3/4 inch dia. section. Then there are two sections that have the linear loading rods attached and surrounding them. The manual only states as follows, "Slide a 3/4" section into the swaged end of the 1 inch tubing and secure with a clamp." The 1" section is the part that the two linear loading rods bend at 90 deg and attach to, on either side of the fiberglass piece. The swaged part of this 1 inch piece is about 2.5 " long but one could slide the 3/4" section about 2 inches further into the piece until it butts up against the fiberglass piece. For all other joints the manual tells one to slide the section in 3 inches or there are bolt holes to line up or the tip must extend so much but for this one joint there is no guidance. The manual also gives no overall element length so my question is, "How far into the swaged section do you insert the 3/4 section?" I'm thinking that one would only slide it in up to the end of the swaged portion. Any of you experienced folks have any advice. Tnx in advance, Phil KB9CRY
