The only real negative we found is the constant hiss from the squelch
that has no adjustment. On weekends in some areas, the guy up on the tower
hears a lot of chatter from other users........IMO the radios are worth using
because it eliminates the yelling and misunderstanding between ground crew and
tower guy....especially when the wind is blowing, and/or vehicle traffic noises
on nearby roads.
