I would say that whatever the neighbors wanted to do to screen the tower
on their land would be fine with me. After a while, no one even "sees" the tower and most lose interest. Let them do whatever they want and I wouldn't change a thing on my side. Phil KB9CRY Todd Coulter wrote: I am sure that I will forget something, but I will update my situation. I went to the meeting today with my attorney. The meeting went unexpectedly well, and lasted about an hour. In the meeting for the city was the Asst. City Attorney, a Building Official, and a Zoning Official. They started off the meeting by stating that they had no intent of trying to revoke or stop the building permit, and they couldn't even if they wanted to. They said that they had conflicting ordinances in reference to towers as well. They addressed a few of the concerns of the neighbors such as RF and such. They showed me some RF safety evaluations that the neighbors did, and I showed them how they were done incorrectly. The neighbors put together a book that was about a inch and a half thick. It included stuff from the FCC web site as well as the ARRL website. They City Attorney also said that the city had been taken to court and lost to Nextel when they tried to stop Nextel from installing a cell tower on the basis of RF health problems, and that they didn't plan on going to court again and losing. They basically wanted to know if I was open to suggestions about screening the antenna from the neighbors view. We told them that I would consider any ideas and that I would not commit to anything now. The also told me that they couldn't force me into any type of screening at all that I did not want. They said that they would contact my neighbors and find out if there is anything short of taking down the tower that could be done to rectify the problem. They are coming out tomorrow to give me the final inspection on the tower. We will see how it all goes. Thanks for all of the help. _______________________________________________ See: http://www.mscomputer.com for "Self Supporting Towers", "Wireless Weather Stations", and lot's more.
