On my HF2V (very similar to the HF6V) the gap is only 5/8 inch. Its
not at all critical so don't worry about getting it exactly like the
original. If you're going err make the gap a little larger and you'll
have no problems if you run high power.

the aluminum mounting post (Part "A) and the antenna Base Section
(Part "B"). This space has an insulator rod and is spanned by Base

how far apart the two pieces of aluminum tubing are.
