Anyone have any experience with the DX Engineering Hot Rodz top hat extensions?
These are the top hat rods that improve the efficiency of short loaded vertical
antennas.
Dave, WX7G, use to have similar items available from Nantenna, LLC that one
would use
with an RM-40(S) resonator on the Hustler 6BTV vertical for 80 meter operation.
Using the
40 meter resonator in conjunction with the rods (instead of the normal 80 meter
resonator)
improved the 80 meter efficiency as well as the bandwidth.
Anyone ventured there yet in attempting to improve the operation of the Hustler
6BTV on
80 meters? If so, I'm interested in the length rods used, adjustment, etc.
