When I purchased my US Tower, used, a number of years ago, whatever
had been used to lube the rails was sticky and gummy. The tower would
actually stick and grab while going up and down. I called US Tower
and was told to clean off the old lube which was used during
manufacturing and to spray the rails with "Slip Plate". You can buy
it at any hardware store. It comes in a spray can and is a graphite
based paint, if I'm not mistaken. Tower works fine now and has for a
number of years.
