On a job in mainland China about 10 years ago a load of structural steel was
being brought into the building on a forklift. The forklift hit a bump and
dumped the load maybe 3 feet onto concrete. Most of the I-Beams were ok, but
some shattered and others bent!
Hopefully they have improved their metallurgical inspections since then, but
I still avoid Chinese steel. Problem is - its hard to know where the stuff
came from.
