I've used both bent wire shirt hangers and bobby pins to staple my
radial wires into the grass around my 160M inverted L. I would have used
more bobbies except they were too expensive when bought in small quantities
at the local chain-pharmacy (CVS.) However, I ran into more than a few
areas where I needed the length of a custom-cut wire staple, so the hangers
were also useful.
Had I known about the source for bulk bobby pins that Mike mentions
below, I would have gone that route, reserving the cutting and
finger-pinching-in-the-electrician-plier-jaws for the few times I needed to
bend a wire.
