For many many years I've cut Lexan strips ~1/4 inch wide as
open wire line spacers.
You can run into problems if the load impedance is very high
at high power. On humid mornings I've had 3 inch lexan
spacers on a line feeding two half waves in phase fail near
the antenna feedpoint.
I had a 1500 foot long open wire line made from number 8
wire spaced 2.75 inches (450 ohm).
I used lexan spacers on that line also.
