They are not all Mexicans. Most do come from Spanish speaking countries in
Central and South America. The distribution varies some around the US. Many
are certainly undocumented, unskilled and with limited English (but then so
is my Spanish). Any of these characteristics make it harder to find steady
work.
Probably time to move the discussion to the immigration and migration list.
