I had asked questions earlier about this project and have a few more.
I am adding 20 ft to a 100 ft existing 45g tower I built 7 years ago. All
antennas are now off the top and I need to remove the flat-top top section.
The plan is to loosen the top set of guys and move the bracket down about 3 ft
to the top of the next straight section. Set "modest" guy tension.
Then remove the top section and lower it down.
Then move the middle set of guys up to the new height of 75ft. Set modest
tension on those guys.
Climb down and move the lowest set up to their new height of 35 ft.
Set the guy tension of the middle and lower sets of guys to spec.
Raise the 2 new straight sections and the top section into place.
Move the top set of guys up to their new height of 111ft.
The guys are connected to the rohn guy bracket assembly and I would like to
disconnect the guy wires at the anchors and move them as an assembly up to the
next guy point.
Again, while doing the guy moving, I will keep only modest guy tension on the
upper guys to reduce downward force while moving guy wires.
Does that sound like the proper procedure for this project?
Thanks,
Bryan W5MX
