WNEW AM, in NYC, had sloping top hats on its towers, made from the upper 10m or so of the top guyset. Worked fine for years, even in the nighttime directional array. My guess is, if the guys were at 45 degrees to the tower, the loading impact would be .7 of what you would see with a purely horizontal top hat. Nothing to worry about.
