Inside was a straight tower, about 3' on a side, 80' long (60' projecting

If I recall, I saw the owner's kid trying to sell it on Ebay a few years
ago. Just wondering if anybody knows if something good became of it.

Art, From QST January, 1987...I think that's the tower you are thinking of.
"Mid-Michigan Skyhook". It is also shown in ARRL's "Yagi Antenna Classics",
page 8-3 thru 8-5. Impressive pics there.
John Baublitz WD8RXP owned and built the structrure with help from WA8AEG
and WD8RZE. The bottom 120' (tapered) went from 5" tubing (or pipe) at the
bottom and ended up with 3" tubing (or pipe) at the top. I cant see anything
that
references the side widths of the bottom tower, but it appears to be maybe
15' or so at the base, maybe more.
>From there an "upper tower" was constructed. It was 8' long, but only 60'
were out of the tower, making nthe whole thing 180' tall. The bottom of the
"upper tower" was 36" on a side at its bottom and 18" on a side at the top.
The
upper tower rotated and had large KLM yagis on it.
Unfortunately, WD8RXP passed away in 1999. Maybe one of those other guys
know what happened to the structure.
