A couple of points. TT has a good price.
At just over a half db loss per hundred feet anything better is going to
gain you little. 7/8" Heliax might even be free, but first you have to find
it, it's heavy, doesn't make tight turns and although strong you do have to
treat it nicely. Used connectors are find, if you can find them handy. Not
if you have to search and wait. New ones are *expensive*. I just gave two
news ones to the local club.
Connectors for LMR600 run a wide range of prices. Good, type-N crimp
connectors are about $10 each and very easy to install. If you can find the
crimp bands they are easy to reuse as well. Clamp connectors are over $30
each IIRC. That makes it worth while to find some one nearby with a
crimping tool if you don't have one.

I picked up a 1000 feet at about $1.20 a foot, but that was a year ago. I
figure at that price I can use it and LMR 400 for everything except the
pigtails at the top of the tower where it's extraflex. With 200 feet of LMR
600 running about 1.1 to 1.2 db loss there is little to gain by going larger
except the possibility of a lot more work. Actually I've replaced about 800
feet of LMR 400 with the 600.

You *might* find better prices on good, name brand connectors at either RF
Parts or The RF Connection www.therfc.com and you might not, but time spent
searching on the net might be well spent.
