W9INN had a good design that used a trap and was only 115 feet long (full
size on 80). I had it up and for a short time before a storm took it down.
With just a ground rod and two radials I did very well in a contest working
one night of two. W3GH said I was very loud at his place.

The antenna was called a broad bander and I installed it as a L with the
vertical part about 75 feet.

The other options you can use are just a switch between the 80 and 160
portion and a tuner to use a continous wire (say 135 feet) for either band.

Make sure you have a decent radial system!
