I can see how my question has caused some confusion.  To clarify, I am
*not* considering anchoring solely into the stucco and sheathing.  I'll
be anchoring to the building frame -- only after completing a load
analysis.  My question at this point is whether the bracket should be
mounted in *contact* with the stucco or not.
