I had no instructions on my used HDX-555, but I sat down and stared at it
for a bit and the answer was there. The bottom limit switch is mounted on
the stationary section of the tower so the vane of the switch is contacted
by the bottom of the largest of the moving sections of the tower. This is
the bottom limit. the other switch is located on the non-moving section of
the tower also. The switch in this case is on the top of the section.
Arrange the switch so the vane of the switch arm contacts the flange thing
on the leg of the largest moving section (some call this the 2nd section of
the tower). This is the top limit. Test the switches for mechanical and
electrical operation.
I call the non moving section of the tower the first section.
I have no information on the wiring of the controls for the tx-49mdpl as it
is different from the 555.
Mount the switches this way and visualize the operation. you may have to
re-position the switches to get the limits to work properly. The tower in
not meant to extend to the very ends of the sections. If extended to the
ends, the tower will fall apart. You do not want to have this happen.
If you are not completely confident with the way it will operate after you
have done the installation, have someone check it out for obvious problems.

I offer no warranty with these suggestions.
The risk is yours.
Good luck.

Hello all,

I have just aquired a very nice TX-489MDPL crankup tower with motor drive.
I have new limit switches for it but no instructions on how to install.

Does any one of you have instructions you can email or mail to me at my
expence and/or take a picture of how your limit switches are installed would
be of great help.

Thanks in advance for any assistance,

Dennis, k0eoo
