Back in the 70s, my TH6 at 50 feet worked very well, especially on 10 meters.
Of course, today, until we get some sun spots, it doesn't matter much what your
height is! If it is not cost effective to go to 60, or 70 feet , 50 feet is
fine. I would definitely go higher than 20-40 feet. Also, a 50 foot tower
gives you a decent support for an inverted vee, or 1/4 wave sloper on 80.
Whatever you plan to do, make sure that you have a safe installation.
