Hi Tony --
Along this same line, check my website to see how
I'm running a similar 80 meter antenna. It's at:

http://www.hayseed.net/~jpk5lad/Assorted%20Ham
%20Stuff/80-meter%20antenna.htm

There's absolutely no reason it should work as well
as it does since it defys several of the rules of
physics but I'm not going to tell it that since it
continues to work SUPER for me.
This weekend on Sweepstakes, I got numerous
unsolicited comments on how loud I was. I could
only laugh to myself..... but it's easy to build and
works "like a bomb!"

Good luck and 73,
Jim - K5LAD
