By the way, please do NOT read this as a condemnation of Array Solutions'
baluns!!!!

If anything, the balun looked very nice and solidly  built from the pictures
of the inside, and was built on a hefty core.

The problem is not that the balun was Array Solns' product, but because it
was a 4:1 voltage balun.

Any 4:1 voltage balun feeding an unbalanced antenna would cause this
problem.  Actually, in one sense, the better the balun, the worse the
problem, because the better the balun the more it forces your coax shield
above ground. ;-)

A poor voltage balun would probably just overheat instead of forcing massive
currents down your coax.
