No doubt, Dan. I have a big Dentron antenna tuner that I've used
routinely (with good results) at 1200 watts (Drake L7 output) to match
all manner of crummy antennas on various bands where they aren't
supposed to work well. In one case, however, I had this tuner arcing
with just 100 watts drive when I used it to match a very low 80 meter
dipole (10 feet off the ground). One of the series variable caps in the
T was barely meshed which is the worst case for capacitor voltage.
