Commscope is NOT a new player -- as I understand it, they were the 
spin-off of on of the major telecomms, maybe AT&T, 20 or so years ago. 
They may be new to hams, but they are NOT new. 

More than 5 years ago when dot coms were going belly up in droves, a 
warehouse full of Commscope RG8 came on the market really cheap. I 
bought some. Excellent stuff. Performance specs started at 500 MHz and 
went up.
