I have one too and it works well but it is not designed for prolonged use in
the elements.

Hey Ed,

Here is something completely different. Look at www.superantennas.com .
They have a 3 element Yagi that covers 6 through 20 meters and fits in a
small bag. I have one and recently used it while on holiday in Costa Rica.
Let me tell you how well it worked. I worked a VU station (India) over the
North pole on SSB with 100 watts and a 5-9 report. Once you read the
directions and become familiar with the assembly, you can have this antenna
up and ready to use in 20 minutes or less. It's the best performing
portable antenna I've ever seen.

Have fun,

Dave - K4SSU

Trying to devise best antenna system for RV situation. I think I would like
to go with the Hygain AV-640 with DX Engineering Tilt Over Base, attached to

Roof Ladder. I want to be able to break this down quickly and in some parks,

won't have the luxury nor the time to deal with wire antennas.

I like the 640 because it's all band, minus 80/160m and it handles moderate
power. But I am open to other ideas....

Thanks for the bandwidth,

73,
Ed NI6S

PS: RV is 31' long and will tie vertical down to roof racks while in
motion.....
