True, and some big contesters made their fortunes in the cell phone
business (e.g. K3LR).
Nonetheless, before there was a Radio Shack (proper noun), hams
operated from stations located in radio shacks (lower case), but now I
hesitate to refer to my QTH as a "radio shack" since those words
conjure up images of aggressive marketing, know-nothing employees, and
cheap, flimsy radio controlled toy trucks in the minds of most people.
