The idea goes like this:

Couple together, inside the tower, enough lengths of tube-not-pipe to extend 
10-15 feet above the tower top-plate. 

Set the tube assembly on a vertical thrust bearing.

Center/restrain the tube in the tower, at several points along its height, with 
shelves and bearings.

Guy the tube only, through the tower Z-bracing, as if the tube were going to be 
standing alone, with horizontal thrust bearings at the guy-attachment points, 
so the tube can rotate.
