Each time you tune the lower band, the higher band will be affected (amount
depends on your installation). I added 30m/17m dipoles to my Alpha Delta
DX-CC fan dipole and it worked just fine, with two elements it will be much
easier. I had a lot of initial tuning to do due to my 35' installation
height in my small residential lot using aluminum TV mast from the ground
up. I also was not always able to get the wires as far from each other as
I'd have liked.

For Field Day I am going to place two wires on a Balun Designs 5kw 1:1
balun, one wire will be cut for 40m and one for 20m. I will tune the 40m
wire first, followed by the 20m wire. I'll be testing my RV generator to
power my normal equipment out in the desert, along with my Heathkit
SB-220... so I'll just tune the wires to give me a broad 2:1 match and deal
with any higher SWRs on the extreme ends of the band(s) with my amplifier.
Being that I am going to a remote desert site and installing the fan dipole
at 50' AGL on a Max-Gain fiberglass mast, I should see less than 3:1 across
each of the bands with 2:1 across the majority.
