The teeth could only chew into the mast if there is movement.  I had an 
OptiBeam OB2-40 up for years on an aluminum mast in Aruba, which has 
constant wind, and there was no chewing of the mast.

I don´t think it is a good idea to use saddles with teeth.
Those will saw through the tubing on the long run.

I only use stainless steel hardware in my antennas and after recently
dismantling my P40A station I was glad that I did as even in a corrosive
environment, everything easily came apart.   OptiBeam comes with all
stainless steel hardware and they use a laser cut SS saddle with teeth which

seems to be effective.  What is wrong with their single mounting plate?
