The spacing is optimized, but does not follow along with the OWA
spacing. Two different animals.

Hi Neil

They are the same antenna. The 205BA is the older version, and has
the screw & clamp style clamps to hold the elements together. They
tend to rust and break. The 205CA has stainless hose clamps.

The other difference as you noted is the spacing. The 205BA has the
elements spread evenly along the length of the boom for weight
balance, NOT maximum performance. The 205CA is based on OWA spacing
where the reflector/driven/first director are closer together, and
wider spacing on the second and third director. You can find the
updated spacing/element lengths in the ARRL antenna handbook.

Hope this helps.
