Hi Pete,
The water in the coax can be a suspect, but i assume most hams use some
sort of sealant at the junction and hence
trouble shooting the EHUs would be yet another logical step. At any
rate, if the tape movement sound is smooth,
Mike is going to rule out the EHU's quite fast.
