   It's not too difficult. Just make sure you don't get wires caught in 
the wrong place when you reassemble.

   I have a reed switch in my hand and it is a GRI P-20-A with a 2007 
date code. However the only Internet hit I got was here on TowerTalk 
from 2005.

   The reed switch that originally came in my 11 year old OR-2800DC is a 
bit longer than the GRI switch but was a discontinued part. I had great 
difficulty getting the new shorter switch in far enough for it to pick 
up pulses properly. Not sure if that has anything to do with the note in 
the lower left corner of the first scan. If I have to do it again I will 
probably make a mod to get the switch closer to the magnet.

   Perhaps someone has newer/better info.
