I made the calculations and, at least in theory, the "bending" momentum on the 
tower gets lower if you put the guys a little lower. I have climbed it the 
biggest swing/vibration was between the guy point and ground. It's an aluminum 
tower so the springiness is a "little" more than the steel counterpart.

As you can see, the guys are about 70 feet up. The tower is 85 feet.

Since we’re having non engineer inputs...
I’d much rather have guys near the top and a little close in than have 30’ of 
tower flapping in the breeze (and eating out the holes in the legs and sawing 
at 
the bolts).
I recently bought some used 25 with holes chewed out to at least twice original 
diameter...no idea how it was installed.
Besides, you wouldn’t be climbing above the guys, as long as you use 
temporaries 
on the way up from the others.
We need an engineer to chime in, but I’d bet that two sets would be enough??
Does anyone know the square foot rating of a 10’ section?
