I saw a device one ham made that was several blocks of wood of various lengths
that were screwed together, looked like a stair steps. He put it inside the
tower, so when lowered, each section leg rested on a block of wood. The
block(s) were strapped around the leg(s) so it couldn't move (even though with
the weight of the tower on it there's no way it could anyway.) Very effective.
