What type cores are being used looks like a good balun to work with One question I have how does the core change the white noise level I have used cores that lowers the white noise. I have the ones that was sold in the midwest hamfests he sold some that were coated in blue but he would never tell me the specs he is now SK so now no one can't get any more of the they worked great on hf. He would never say who made them.

I put as many as 7 turns of RG-8 size cables (LMR-400, Davis Bury Flex,
etc) through 5 to 7 cores.
http://www.rogerhalstead.com/ham_files/AntennaFeed1.htm . To get 7
turns, in 6 cores, takes some wire pulling soap on the last two turns.
It helps to have very straight cable to insert as well. I epoxy, or
super glue the cores together in a nice straight stack, use glue or
epoxy sparingly.

Tywraps work for this too. But 7 turns without a connector; 5 is the
limit with a connector for most cables.
