Hi Tom,

Study the schematic ... IIRC, the #4 position uses no
power, so that is why it may seem to be 'quiet'? (And
it means that antenna is always going connected when
the power is OFF, think that out and confirm it's OK)

Are you seeing the steering/switching voltages change
as to plus, minus, and so forth ... 

Seems like I recall comments on the eHam reviews on
this topic? Might be worth reviewing those too.

T/T,
This RCS4 has a built in power supply. No wall wort. When switching unit 
is brought in to the bench, there is no noise, only when placed at the 
tower. Noise goes away when power is off or in the #4 default position.
Just curious if anyone has experienced this before???
