continental US available from the USGS, as well as a nifty Freeware program
called Microdem..."
K6TU now offers a free automated service that produces terrain radials in
1-degree increments in NED 1/3 arc-second resolution. He has taken more
than 90% of the work out of the process. In fact, neither map data imports
nor Microdem is needed, only HFTA.

After free registration, click on "NEW," then "TERRAIN ANALYSIS REQUEST."
The a link to the result is sent via e-mail. Extract into a folder, start
HFTA, then tell HFTA the location of the files. Done.
You're now an HFTA power user.
