Remember, this fellow is selling what he is talking about.  If you listen to
the end, he makes several completely false statements, which should be
obvious to all.

Since my 150 foot Rohn 45 tower went up in 1999, it has received at least
five strikes.  I personally observed three of these, seeing the "ball of
plasma" at the top of the tower.  My own ignorance in how to mitigate
current from lightning resulted in more than $5000 in damage to equipment.
I am rebuilding the entire system to do a better job of protection.

I came across this video from Nott Ltd that describes how their static
discharge arrays or "Porcupines" help disapate static electricity to prevent
lightning strikes.

I understand they are used in several industries including communications
towers and was wondering if anyone has experience with them. Installation is
easy enough, but I wonder how this work work with crank-ups?
