While this topic was interesting, to start, I think I'll just stick with the tried and true of sticking aluminum and wire in the air the old fashioned way and working what I can. At my age I don't have the time to worry about whether the metal I use is crumbly or whatever. I just want low SWR, good reports and for it to stay up reasonably long (difficult to do sitting on the ocean).

Carry on, we are still reading but need lots of coffee to keep me going now.

This is very interesting.  I for one am quite intrigued and will be
eagerly awaiting any definitive interpretable results.  The stalactite
analogy gives me pause to consider.

N6LF has agreed to make some space in his schedule and analyze some
