    The reason you can use pipe (as opposed to tubing)  on commercial 
towers is that there is no bending moment on the antennas unlike  amateur masts 
that stick straight up and many times has multiple antennas  mounted on it. 
 
    LXC Recommendation: When installing multiple  antennas on a mast, 
alternate on which side they're mounted. In other words,  if one antenna is 
mounted on the left side of the mast - mount the next on  the right side of the 
mast. If you look at the force vectors, you'll see that  they can largely 
cancel each other out.
