Subject: [TowerTalk] Cellphone signal boosters
Hi TTers,
Does anyone have experience with systems purporting to boost access to weak
cell towers?
Where our cottage is located, our cell coverage often arrives from the other
side of Lake Winnipeg, about 25 miles away. In summer, one bar on the phone's
"s-meter" is the most we can hope for. Data moves at a glacial pace.
I've found online systems comprising an outdoor yagi, an amplifier and an
indoor panel antenna said to serve as a sort-of repeater to offer stronger
reception and improved data rates.
Do these work?

## Too bad the cell phone didnt come with a bnc connector, but then u would be
stuck in one part of the cottage... tied to the coax.
## You might want to google reviews of any of the online systems you
mentioned. Enter make and model model... space.... reviews..or review.
Then do it for a bunch of em. Then if enough reviews, esp with stuff on
amazon.com, you will get a feel for whether model XXX actually
works, and reliability, product warranty, if it lasts for more than a year etc.
Is outdoor ant built right, will it handle ice + snow, or does it have
to be removed every fall, etc.
