Forgot to add my perspective on the topic. While the Loos gauge does give a
somewhat meaningful but not entirely accurate measurement of guy wire tension,
to me the important thing is that using the Loos does allow you to tension the
guys to a meaningful tension. The most important thing is that the guys have
similar tensions; that is, each guy at each level have the same measurement.
Whether the tension is somewhat plus or minus the desired tension is not a
fatal problem. The fact that they're all the same is the main thing you're
trying to achieve.
