Take a look at this: https://hackaday.io/project/10489-powerpole-distribution-block Would not be a major issue to scale this to 4 conductors. As KZ1W noted, the connector shells can be had in colors to match the Green Heron cabling scheme.

BTW, If you don't want to etch a board, you can solder brass machine screws into a powerpole contact to bolt it to a bus bar .

See https://www.vandapower.com/site/products/connectors/APP%20Powerpole/APP%20powerpole%20-%20product%20sheet.pdf

Powerpole blocks/strips exist for 4 to 12 positions so each one jumpers 2 "poles".  You can get the insulator in many colors so that could provide encoding of the plugs.

Or make a "super block" 8 wide by 12 position from individual poles using the PCB pin.  Soldered bare wire jumpers for each "pole".

I am looking for ideas on something off the shelf or easy to make that
would allow you to parallel multiple sets of up to eight wires using
plug in connectors.  Currently I am using a couple of Green Heron
bases to simultaneously switch three 2x6 position coax switches.
Everything works but is a little messy with 12 sets of four wires
twisted and taped together.

It would be great to have a box that had about six sets of eight
receptacles for the same type of terminal block connector as provided
by Green Heron that could be somehow be configured for what you
needed.

Other than an old style terminal strip with screwed down terminals
does anyone have any ideas on how to improve on having a bunch of
wires twisted or soldered together and taped up?
