That is with the load at the top of the tower. If he mounts a rotor and
has a 20 ft mast I think things could change pretty quickly?

Regarding wind load of 45G tower. If I read the original post correctly, the tower is a
45G SR ie: SOLID ROD. As such, and if this is true, the wind load, per Rohn specs, is:
110 mph 3 sec gust exp B 35 sq ft and exp C 22 sq ft. If it's std 45 G, won't take 110
gust. At 90 mph 3 sec gust, its rated at 4.9 sq ft. And I think someone should run the
figures again on how much it would be off over 40 foot. If it's off 1" at the top of
the short base, well my common sense says it off more than 4" at 40 foot. (But then
I am old and senile)
