My coax and rotor cable has been laying on my roof since 1992. I swapped it
out and the roof tower about 2000 for a roof replacement. I also have 2"
copper flashing coming down from roof tower also laying on roof. There may be
some staining from the copper, otherwise no problems. I did have to lag the
flashing to the roof to minimize wind noise. That roof penetration and others
were mucked with roofing cement. Location is SNJ / FM29, near PHL.

I do not have any experience with coax directly on my roof but I would still be
concerned about possible side effects of extreme temperatures.
Let's say you live some place where the air temp can reach 110F.....given that
and a pure sunny day and "darkish colored shingles"
and I suspect the surface temperatures on that roof can hit every bit of 150F
(or more).....I just don't know if I would like that.
