Those of us who converted from broken up EHS guy wires to Phillystran had
plenty of 504 surplus insulators. So it was a natural to use them for the
transition between EHS guy wire and Phillystran.

An insulator is not necessary.  If you put a Big Grip around a shackle you
did not read the directions.  Preformed Line Products recommends a specific
thimble size for each of their Big Grip ends.
